Not asking why you'd want such a big tractor(mostly because I bought one and am far from needing that much power). I looked at the JD 4020 and found them to be quite expensive in comparison to other makes of the same hour/year/condition tractor. That coupled with the fact that I think the two JD dealers within a 75 mile radius of me are quite arogant and when I spend my hard earned money I like a litle service to go with the parts/service I'm purchasing. This may be different in your area. I looked at the 1750/1850 size Olivers would have probably bought one had I found one in good condition as the Agco dealer is also my Bush Hog dealer(I have a PHD and a 8' Mower of that brand). I don't know much about the MM or Ford as I didn't look at any of them. Though I would consider the Ford as My Agco/Bush Hog dealer is also the New Holland Dealer. Make sure what ever you buy has good parts support in your area. Nothing worse than a wise acre parts man laughing at you when you're all greasy and out of shape from wrenching on your old iron(fun as it may be to wrench, this could take the fun out of it for you). I found and bought a '73 1066 Farmall. 3100 hours showing, no smoke, TA seemed to work well. I can't say this would be your best bet but I'm real happy with mine. If you have questions feel free to email me. Not that I'm any kind of authority but I did buy one. Good Luck! Rich

But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out. After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
