I am a carpenter who has been on his own for ten years after 28 years of slaving through the union.My quality of life is much better though as a family man I always need money so must keep working.I stay small,just me and a helper,hardly advertise,and am about 6mo. behind.Mostly reno,s. It might be an option for you,the self-employed mechanics that operate out of their homes or their friends shops here in B.C. are busy, busy, busy. My two cents.
