Perhaps these tubes are still available from Case/IH (or whatever they are called today). The tube is threaded 4-48 right hand thread. The tap drill size for 4-48 is a #42 drill bit. Some advocate driving a small screwdriver into the broken part and backing it out that way. I prefer to use a #44 drill bit to start a true hole in the center of the tube and finish with the # 42. Brass is tricky to drill. Use very slow feed rate into the work. Remove the idle adjustment screw and blow out chips from both directions. Re-tap the hole carefully. Installing the new tube finger tight should be sufficient.
