I agree 100% with Michael, no mater how smart or well versed with machinery we are there are vital tips in the operators,service & parts manuals. Don't use 80,90 or 140 weight standard gear lube in the common hydraulic/transmission system. It will ruin the wheel brake and wet pto clutch linings. Lots of JD's for sale after "Uncle Tinker" thought he would help by topping up the trans fluid with something other than "Hyguard". Check the trans oil filter isn't full of metal filings off the brakes.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
