I bought an Oliver boat motor over the internet before. The man sent me pictures through E-mail. It looked nice. So I drove from western New York , all the way to Ohio , just to buy it. Very happy with the motor. Yes , get pictures. Ask for history of tractor , etc. , etc.. Don't fall for the hereing the engine run , over the phone. The tractor you here over the phone , may not be the one you are trying to buy.
