I would not suggest buying a tractor without seeing it. If you don't know what your're getting, it could turn into a money pit. And if it's too far away for you to go look, just think what it would cost to have it hauled home. I would suggest taking out a Wanted To Buy ad right here on ytmag. They're free, and you'll get tons of responce. Just get a good idea of what makes and models you are looking for, and post the ad. It worked great for me, found all kinds of tractors close by. Another suggestion would be to pick up a local farm newspaper and check classified ads and auction bills. Just out of curiosity, what part of the country are you in where you can't find a decent tractor for sale? If there really isn't anything around, you might just have to haul one in from far away.
