Cultivator mounts on VAC

I got no response over on the Case board. Maybe you fellers can help. The cultivator mount holes on my '52 VAC are turned at a 45o angle to the ground. It seems to me that the later VACs were like that whereas the earlier VACs, SCs, etc. had the holes square to the ground. This poses a problem in that I want to buy a saw rig that has been mounted on an older VAC. I'm really puzzled as to why Case did this and not happy that I will have to do major modification to make the saw rig work on my tractor.
