Hey Bowser - Another consideration to get the hieght is to build a stem wall. While this may seem very apparent I completely overlooked it when building my shop. Had I done so I could have added some additional height all for the cost of minimal block work. My shop height was limited to my budget and as such I only the tallest metal kit I could afford. If I were to do it over I would again build my slab 6" above grade (N. FL), go with a 2-3' stem wall atop the slab, fill the cells with concrete and finish the top. Make sure on slab to include rebar uprights for added strength to the block work. When the block work is nearly finished insert your building anchors. Mine were 1" dia. "Redhead" anchors which held my uprights. The doors can then be ordered to length. FWIW
