The belt tensioner on my 88 with 3L V6 will start to chirp about every 6 months. all I have to do is grab the accessory belt(engine off :)) and pull on it several times to make the belt tensioner bushing move full travel. This fixes the chirp for another few months. This "fix" has worked for 10+ years.
