I looks like you should be able to do it my changing the first speed (45 tooth) gear. The Oil Slinger gear rides on the hub of this gear. I suggest you get a parts manual. It should show what you need. Apparently tractors 501-39021 did not have an Oil Slinger while 39022 up did. Since the Oil Slinger gear is pot metal, used ones are often badly worn. New after market are availabe (valu-bilt.com). These about $50 compared to more than $200 from CaseIH.
