knocking in engineJD

I have a 1948 B and it has a serious engine knocking problem it only knocks when u take off or the tractor gets under some pressure i timed it that didnt work. I think it might be a rod bearing. but i also noticed that when i open the pet cocks the left piston pushes out a lot of compression but hte right barely anything comes out any info would help. thanks
