Would a skid-steer loader be a better choice? They are a lot more mobile than a tractor and maybe easier to use. If you are not real particular a bucket would be all you need, there are tons of attachments you could chose from. The only downside would be you can't turn on loose dirt without creating a mini grand canyon.

A skid steer is likely what the landscapers would use, most of the ones I know of have one.
