If you have a real load, BUY A REAL TRUCK. These pick-up/semi wanna-bees are for looks and sound only, regardless of what the GVW sticker on the door jamb says. They may be wonderful trucks, but they are still just a pick-up, made for light pick-up truck loads. It's what the kid who had a street car that looked like a race car drives today. The sad and dangerous fact is that some guys are towing backhoes and dozers around, grossing out over CDL requirements, thinking they are saving money and within the law. I have personally seen a Dodge 3500 frame snap just behind the cab towing a backhoe on a 9T neckover tandem, after hitting a dip approaching an interstate bridge. Fortunatly it stayed in one large part and finally was able to be stopped on the other side on the shoulder. But it was still a sad looking laughable mess that could have killed several people. After seeing this, I changed my mind and started looking at trucks designed to do modeerate work. I settled on a F-8000 Ford, Caterpillar/653 Allison auto that can't be over grossed with hay, or can SAFETLY tow a 10T trailer if I need, and never have to consider a failure. I shopped forever, and every body wanted a fortune for their diesel duallys, but I bought this truck surplused from a local power company for a fraction of what I was otherwise looking at. And yes, it is under CDL, and being an automatic, my wife loves to drive it! Tom S. in Tn.

But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out. After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
