Your fuel cut-off is probably the most failure-prone piece on the 600/early 2000 series Ford tractors. We can just assume they will leak eventually. That unit wasn't intended to be rebuilt, and be sure to get a Ford replacement - the aftermarket cut-off valves are even worse. If your carb float is set properly, you can just leave the valve screwed out (on) and avoid a leak by not touching the thing, mostly. I only close it if I'm away for a month or more. My last one from the Ford house has lasted two years with no drip - guess I'm lucky. Just about everyone with this series Ford has had "the drip". Check the N-series board about inline fuel filters. Some of the guys like Del swear by them. Best of luck - that's a good working tractor. Joey in Dallas.
