Yup, the Select-o-Speed. They actually work well, but it seems people _only_ sell their SoS tractors when a problem crops up, and with 3 timers as many clutches in there, it can be a real money pit to repair. If you've been the owner forever & have taken good care of it, then it's a great tranny. If you don't know how it was used or abused, then it's a big gamble, & should be worth a lot less than a good 5-speed similar tractor. There were also the 'early' & the 'later' 1000 series tractors. The 'later' ones had 3 cylinder engines which were better, most esp. for diesel. I'm not even sure if the earlier style were made in diesel, but something to watch. --->Paul
