John Deere 1010

I have several problems witht this tractor I bought a couple months ago. First there is a power steering problem. Trying to turn is very difficult. Sometimes it starts to turn very easy and something seizes up. It tends to turn a little easier to left but not much better. When straightening the wheels back out the steering is very easy. I located the power steering resevoir as was suggested by someone but do not know how to check the fluid level. The second problem is it wants to overheat. I am mowing with a 5' bush hog running in first gear with the rpm's up pretty high. But this is very slow. It runs fine if I am not mowing with the bush hog.
