Bill, Thanks for explaining it so well (a lot better than I could). However, for the tractors, the fuel couldn't be injected at the "right moment". On the JD D, the water was metered right into the carb! So a mixture of fuel/air/water all went in at once. I think most tractors (if not all) were the same way. I guess you're right about not wanting to cool the distillate. I was thinking of a gasoline system. Duh! What do you know about Merlins? I'm more of an Allison V-12 fan myself. After the radials. Gotta love those big radials! I'm getting a bit off topic. I'd better quit! Brandon
