First- for a one-time deal, consider hiring it done- for the quoted price- that's a good deal. Second- if you do it yourself, remember that loads tend to shift forward, load it slightly ahead of center of the trailer axles; use load binders to tie it to the sides of the trailer, forward and rear of your attaching points on the tractor, and RETIGHTEN after a few miles. They always loosen up. Also check the wheel bearings- hold your hand on them after 10-20 miles to see if they are unusually warm, or unevenly warm: indicating a bearing going bad. Check again every 50 miles. Gosh, that $400 price sounds even better now, doesn't it? Under a buck per loaded mile?
