Case 580 transmission

I'm looking at buying a 580 Case, backhoe-loader, late 60s model, that has been upside down in a roll-over accident. Owner says it ran fine before the accident, but now reverse doesn't work. Any ideas about what might cause this, and how difficult/expensive this will be to fix? Thanks for all your help- Randy
