I like to have the vehicle move toward the jack as the jack moves in because a vehicle is less likely to tip.When the jack is extended and almost maxed out the vehicle has the force to tip over the jack. Over the years I've seen a few jacks damaged because they tipped over but luckly no one was ever hurt.
