Jim, the kits that I've seen/used had 3 o-rings per sleeve and they fit snug so as not to shear when installing. I think I used vaseline on them to help them on the way in and a can of stopleak in the radiator...just in case. If you can't get the right amount of o-rings...I would put them in the top and bottom grooves as the bottom groove would be destroyed if you left it open to the coolant. I guess the third o-ring is there to make double sure of a good seal against coolant leakage. L8R....Fred OH
