This particular book is a school shop text called "Automotive Mechanics" printed in 1956, probably for a high school or tech school class. The author's name is William Crouse and it was published by McGraw-Hill in the USA. Man, everything is in there covering every part of a car/truck/tractor you'd ever want. Basic theory and tons of explanations and examples in areas like electrical, carburetion, cooling, etc. and most of it relates to old tractors too. If you ever come across one of these grab it. You might find one on-line at one of the numerous used book sellers on the web.
