In Wyoming, and I assume its the same in other western states. Small acreage, a section or less, is getting kinda of pricy. How ever the larger tracks, several sections, can be had fairly reasonalbe. They put range land into CRP and if you have several thousand acres, and it's in the right location, you can block off several thousand acres of BLM land, giving you quite a large hunting preserve. This is done by corperations or well to do movie stars and suck. Ted Turner to name one of the largest buyers of western lands. Small farmers are getting squeesed out by subdivisions, making aquiring more land impossible so they they have not choice but to use every bit of the land they have so you can't blame them. As far as wild life, they're now know for being crop senceitive. My hay bills could be cut by 10 - 20 % if the deer would stay out of it. Before I got rid of my pigs I always had a flock of turkeys helping to keep the feed stores in business. I like wildlife as mush as the next guy but when the deer out number my cows 10 to 1 it gets costly. I wont deal with the government so every time they try to help with the hey prices my cost goes up. But I will go broke before I stick my hand out.

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”. I’m par
