I just purchased an old 8N tractor as a project for my son and I to restore. This will be my first restoration project on a tractor and I do not know much about what I'm getting into. As I started trying to get it running I ran into a problem with the starter. I tried to jump directly to the starter and still got nothing. I wanted to pull the starter to bench test it and I cannot figure out how to get it off. It almost seems as though you need to seperate the tran from the motor to get the gear assembly out from the other side of the flywheel. Can anyone give some help??
