I dunno Gary I have doubts about it being too awful strong. At least when I was on the bus as a kid there was a panel that said how many kids it would hold by grade. As I remember for big kids (Highschool) it was like 30. If we assume the average weight of a highschool kid is like 180lbs, although I think it'd probably be less, You're talking 5400#. Now that 5400# is spread over the entire weight of the bus. Think about the weight per square foot, it'd be fairly low compared to a tractor which would therefore stress certain parts of the bus, particularly outside the frame members. I've always heard that school busses were made from real light duty stuff and without some serious information from somebody doing the conversions I'll continue to belive it. Here in New England anyway you see very few converted school buses doing any kind of real work, but lots of buses in junkyards.

The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
