I found an old tractor today, I need help w/ID. I did not get a manf. name, the tag on the right side was mounted sideways in the trans/bellhousing area. The very old tag had "MODEL N TRACTOR" "SERIAL # 287xx" that much was clearly legible, nothing else could be made out. It had a tricycle front, small strange engine (2 cyl) mounted to, and part of the trans. with a mag. ignition mounted on top rear of engine combo. It had a strange shaft(pto)going foward from bellhousing area to the cooling fan. It had a flywheel on the left side, it was a sprocket for a medium size roller chain. There was a pto and drawbar, but no lift. The whole tractor is rust covered, but it strikes me as a Farmall or possibly a John Deere type. I am going back for a better look, but would like to know what I'm looking at when i get there. Any help is much appreciated.
