The DT-436 in that tractor is just broke in with that many hours. With good care it could easily go over 10,000 hours before it needs overhauled although some people recremend new bearings every 4,000 hours or so since they run at such a high rpm. If the engine doesn't have a water filter on it add one and change it every year and change the coolant every other year or you will have cavitation problems and will get to overhaul it.
