Ahh, good man you had on your pour. If you don't understand the plastic underneith you've obviously never seen a concrete floor with water problems... I sat in a shop one time and watched water bead up through the floor. Very wierd, very bad. Made the floor very slippry, shop very humid and will destroy the floor in short order. They saved $2 in plastic and spent it 2000 times over in a new floor. Pipes coming up through the floor can move alot underneith. That is to say that stuff moving around underneith can try and make them move around. Waterpipes also expand and contract with the temp and pressure of the fluid in them. In my mind everything should be isolated from the concrete if at all possible. Keep them separate and you'll be better off in the end.
