I've hauled my JD for years with a chain run through a single clevis pinned to the drawbar as the rear tiedown. The outer ends of the chain are hooked to either side of the trailer, forming a "V". When I put the binder to it, it's pulling to the rear against the front chains and that tractor doesn't so much as wiggle.
