When your talking about spark plug life, which part of the spark plug is wearing out. The groung electrode or the center electrode. Without looking at the spark plug; if your burning up the ground electrode your running way to lean and if your burning up the center electrode the spark plug needs to be a cooler heat range.
I doubt that you have too much spark going to the plug but again without seeing it,its hard to tell. From what you have said just try a colder plug.
