cylinder rebuild tips? This thing is stuck!

Trying to disassemble a cylinder on my JD 1010 loader and I am stuck. Got the thin ring nut off the end, and got out the internal snap ring. The end piece should slide out now right? Tried a little heat and reinstalling the nut to pull up the piece but no luck. Any tips for getting these things apart?
