Don't know if $2000.00 more or not would be a killer but you can get a "nice", late 70's Case-David Brown 990 (at 52 hp) for about $5000. Diesel engine, live PTO, way better hydraulics. I fix and sell a world of 8N's and 800 series Fords, seems everybody around here just has to have one. Get way more bang for your buck with the diesels (plug em up and they will start all winter). I had a run of 560 Longs (50+/-) hp mid 70's for that money (bought them for 4 or 5 years) for under $2000. Cleaned them up and worked the bugs out of them and sold them for $3500. Don't buy a 50 year old gas tract unless you have too.
