In my opinion, anything that has a loader needs power steering. 8N is a nice machine and will do what you want but a little underpowered/light I think. Farmall 400, 450 (maybe even a 300/350) with power steering will get you where you need to be. Live pto, independent lift, powerfull, and with power steering easy to handle with a loader. There are many others in this range also, Olivers, Allis Chalmers, Massey Fergusons, John Deere, to name a few. Diesels are nice but expensive and I think it is better to have too much power then not enough. Take your time and look at many different models and brands. Drive them all and, if possible, work them a little. Do not be shy about driving the tractor for while when looking at them. If the owner objects, walk away. I can tell you from experience, operating the machine for a while will reveil many sins.
