Hi, Murray, know what yer thinken'.....there is a whole bunch of "stuff" to do with the automobile, and of course tractors, that have met with little or no change since their conception. Once the bugs were ironed out on a new idea, the basic concept has not changed.....ie, differential, both types of transmissions, even the motor....all follow a basic designe....sure there are bumps here, warts there, fancy doodads sticken out all over.....Look at the automatic transmision, model T Ford had that...complete with planetary....only difference now is all the "extra" additives..... the concept of the internal combustion engine still has pistons and all that go up and down etc.....only change is MAYBE configureation and no. of cylenders....but be careful....cadilac had a V16 late twentys or early thirtys!!! Guess my point is....we are still riding on the wave of genius of the original inventors of all this automotive "stuff"! Sorry to be rambliln' on...just thought I'd chuck this in.....have a gooder, R.E.L.
