Yes, Howard sells tillers to JD BUT, it saves the "good stuff" for it self!! If you want a multi speed gear box or a few other features, you will have to buy a Howard. It's no secret on this site that i'm a big Howard fan. I've been "rotavateing for hire" for many years and the first Howard i bought is an HA model. It's still makeing me $$ today, and i've bought (2) sets of slip clutch plates, replaced some lost bolts and maybe a gasket or two. (still has origional chain and sprockets berrings ect.) That's it, in over (15) years of use and abuse!! (excepting gear oil and grease) These days i have (3) Howards, and that's the brand i'd buy next time. I wouldn't buy a rotavator (field tiller) with out a multi speed gear box, slip clutch drive, and a very HD drive line, cause you ARE going to hit rocks and other trash, and only the best survive that treatment!! Anything less is just a garden tiller, and for some folks that's all they need. For 110hp tractor i'd buy a Howard HR40 as a miminum. "If" i was buying it for a 80HP tractor knowing i'd NEVER put it on a bigger tractor i'd buy an HR30 as a mininum! You can pay now, (get a good one)or pay later, (parts) but on bigger tractors you will pay! The picture shows my HR30 80" Robert
