Be that as it may, when you are too cheap to buy and keep new hot batteries in the tractor, it will start and run with the compression lever up. If the batteries are not in good shape and you are having to do a lot of cranking( not knowing if you are going to be able to get it started) it is a life saver. My referance was to a 62 super major 5000. Why would you want to spin the motor by hand? I am not being a smartaxe, just want to learn something else.
