I have two FMD tractors. I am not familiar with the FSM tractor but I assume they are much the same. My FMDs do not have live PTO which would be essential on a snowblower. One of my tractors starts much better than the other. The one that doesn't start as well smokes a lot more. I got the injectors tuned up and it didn't make any difference. Both run good and have good power. There is an extra fuel button on the injector pump that should be pushed in for cold starts. My poor starting tractor starts OK down to -30F when I plug it in overnight. Tank heaters save a lot of wear and tear. I use 5W-30 oil in all my outfits in winter, both gas and diesel. I change it more often in the diesels as it is not rated as a diesel oil.
