I can't believe all this about pulling stumps. I was going to relate a story about how a guy north of here got killed using a tug strap, but it occurs to me that this stump pulling thing must be some kind of macho deal, so I say...go for it! Me personally, I've got a chain saw and cut at ground level and treat with Tordon and in a couple of years, you'd never know a tree was there. Anyway, the trees around these parts don't pull very easy anyway, I'd say if you've got anything over 8 or 10 inch diameter, it would take a heck of alot more than some antique tractor to pull anyway....well, on second thought, maybe not if you spent a half a day jerking on it from this side and that side, rearing the front of the tractor up, and digging holes where the tires spin. To all you stump pullers, make sure your life insurance is paid up, and get out there and jerk the darn things out of the ground.
