Anything is possible but their is really only one good solution for live Hyd - the factory type pump mounted infront of the distribuitor. It will look nice and be easier to install, but single stage. The only other choice I can think of is to rig up some kind of belt driven system. - A power steering pump would be the easiest but only single stage. I remember someone making power steering systems for the M's and H's. - Another option would be to fabricate some mounting brackets for a belt driven two stage pump. - You could even use your current pump. - get a shaft with two bearings on it, put a pulley on one end and a coupling on the other, giving you a place to connect your shaft drive pump to. A little more complicated and a few more mounting brackets. The pump rotation will determine if its mounted alongside the engine or out in front of the engine. I think I'd stick to the factor style pump for the H. A two stage pump might be a little too quick for some of your other implements or give you unpredictable results when it switches stages. If you need something for a log splitter you'll be better off with a small gas engine and matching two stage pump. NH sells everything you need for this - engine, pump, mounting brackets, and couplings. Why put all those high RPM hours on your H and send it to the grave early or rebuild. Good luck - hope this helps

12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
