If it is a Delco, the parts to rebuild it should be available. The field windings are probably identical with many other Delco starters and the same with the other parts. Talk with the oldest repairman at the shop you will use- that person may even be able to look and know what will fit. Years ago, I was at a repair shop when a salesman came by. The fellow was from a supplier of starter/generator repair parts. His catalog had an unbelieveable selection of ALL the parts used in starters and generators. Not sure if such complete aftermarket sources still exist- probably not for generators since they were discontinued as OEM about 40 years ago- but probably still do exist for starters.
