I had a hard time figuring this out in 197 something when I bought a 464 IH. I lowered the plow into the ground to the depth I wanted it, and the draft set to the lowest, then I began plowing, and raised the draft lever until just before the plow began to raise. It was interesting to watch the plow when the tires began to slip, the lift arms would nudge up on the plow until the tires stopped slipping.
