Brad, I agree with Green Envy; make sure you get your college education. It will pay dividends for years, and no one can take it away from you. My granddad never wanted to go to college, as he hated school; his mother basically forced him to go to college in the depths of the Depression because she knew he wouldn't make anything of himself without it(even though his parents couldn't afford it). He got his degree in agriculture and became an extension agent. He eventually got a job with an electric utility as their farm extension agent, and that job enabled him to buy his farm and take care of a herd of dairy cattle. My grandmother still lives on that farm, and my uncle takes care of it. Whatever you do, go to college for additional schooling, and make sure you take business and economics classes along the way. Practical experience is also a necessity. Before you know it, four years of college will be finished and you'll wonder where it went.
