Well, considerin' I got grandkids dang near as old as you, I'm probably not qualified to contribute advice to this discussion, but it has been my experience that either they is or they ain't. Interested that is.

If they is, great.

If they ain't, there's nothing much to be done about it.

My wife ain't, but she understands that I am, and tolerates it, as long as it doesn't put too big a dent in the budget. We've been married 28 years this month, and part of the reason we're still married (other than cussed orneryness) is that we have separate interests and spend a little time away from each other. There's such a thing as too much togetherness...
