Well...I can't afford to farm for a living so...By trade I’m a journeyman steamfitter. I have a few years of college under my belt and I've been seeking a career change in many directions that I’m not in the mood to discuss at this time. I live well into the country on a small 40-acre farm with a small percentage of my neighbors struggling to keep their smaller farms going. Lots have folded up over the years. Good news is the area has an increasing Amish population. Neat to see them working with horses... especially plowing with large teams. My current "Big Boy" toys? Smallest to largest...1937 Cletrac E-62 with the original 2-row cultivator, 1952 Allis WD-working tractor, 1955 Allis WD45-working tractor, 1956 Allis WD45-under restoration, 1953 Case DC 4-great runner- newest, 1949 Tractomotive TLW- small loader tractor- 1 of only 150 built on an Allis WF frame by the Tractomotive Corp. Deerfield Ill-to be restored when I can afford it (not much work around here!), 1958 Allis Chalmers Forty Five Motor Grader. Vehicles include a 1975 Chevy 1-ton dually w/15 ft. flat bed. 1979 Ford 350 1 ton.

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
