Kev, the first thing you need is a tractor. What manufacturer you buy is not important. Usually there are strong AC areas of your state, other areas may be heavy in Farmall or Fords. A lot depends on who was the local dealer 50 years ago. No tractor brand is better than another. Dealer support was the main selling point. If you want a small tractor of 15-20 HP and less than 2000 pounds look at a International (Farmall) Cub or an Allis B or C. If you want a little more power look at a Farmall H, M, Allis WD 45, etc. Depends on what you can find and what you like. Is this just a hobby or are you going to do something with it when done? After you get it, ask all the questions you want.
