For what it's worth. I have an '83 which blew the head gasket at 120k. Had a complete head job done and it stopped the bit of oil consumption it had. The old truck recently turned 261k and just slipped oil consumption to under 3k to a quart. Treat it right it should go another 120k+. FOLLOW the instructions. DON'T glue the gasket. The aluminum head needs to float.
