..can swath\cut any small grain(Oats, barley,flax etc) that is uneven in how ripe it is or has too many weeds\grass to make straight combining worthwhile. Cutting it with a swather and leaving in a fluffy windrow for several days will dryup everything making for better results with a seperator\combine\harvestor. (did I get most of the right words for most areas of the USA?) Various areas of the country call\name the same operation differently. Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays.. and etc etc. Cutting and leaving in a row is swathing. G.
