I think that the "Using" value of a 4000 gas would be around $8000. You can get a gas 3020 for $6500, an extra $1500 for bigger and newer doesn't seem too out of line. AS a "Collectable", if it hs not yet appreciated to it's eventual value, I do not think you will wait too long. Big gas engined tractors are hard to find "users" for these days, Yet, the gas variation of the 4000, especially a powershift is very scarce. Your tractor is as collectable as any of the two cylinder hi crops, they are useless tractors , yet THEY bring big money. If you don't want your 4000, I have a nice '68 4020D which I'd trade you for it, although I really prefer to "use" my 4020. I expect that it won't be too long before collector value of the 4000G/ps outstrips the user value. The diesel versions, having a higher user value will take a little longer. Look for "collector" prices on such a tractor in the mid to upperteens within the decade. IMO Right now, 8K is probably about right.

In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
