I needed to spray 8 acres with 2-4-D and the local Southern States said it would be $80 for them to do it (just for spraying not the cost of the chemicals). I assume that was 10/acre, I didn't ask. The other option was to rent their ground-driven pull sprayer for $20 and do it myself which is what I did. There was no acreage or time limit on the sprayer rental, they said there was only one other guy in the area that rents it and he was done so they didn't need it back anytime soon. They also said they are going to get out of the sprayer rental business because of liability issues with people not cleaning it out so next year I might have to pay them to do it.
