I learned to drive tractors on a '66 cub cadet with a 10 hp kohler with DOUBLE REAR TIRES (with real tread). they had no air in them, there was so much surface area. It was used only for towing on an a small island. We would tow 20+ foot boats out of the water and onto the dry land, also telephone-sized wooden poles off of the beach, and we used a certain trailer towing everything from 10 100# propane tanks at a time, to complete loads of lumber, and everything you can imagine. I have never seen it slip. It was super-reliable and indistructable. That was my first tractor experience, and I did it for 8 years. I'll tell you, these modern tractors are such a let-down. I now own a gravely tractor And an '67 cub cadet model 72. I have searched very hard for another one (the one I had first used was owned by somebody else), and was amazed when this guy just up and gave it to me, along with a 38" mowing deck. It's in excellent condition. AND I can still get all parts. Old (pre-MTD/pre 70s) cub cadets are my idealized tractor. At any rate, good luck.
